Mark Lawrence, AIA
Mark Lawrence has worked on a range of project types of varying scale with architecture firms in both Washington, DC and Los Angeles, CA. At Richard Meier and Partners in Los Angeles, Mark worked on the US Federal Courthouse in San Diego, CA and the UCLA Broad School Art Center reconstruction and expansion. In Washington, Mark has worked with KUBE Architecture and RTKL Associates as well as Stanley Hallet and Roger Lewis. Other experiences include Mark’s work with Bethesda, MD based SGA Companies on developing new residential communities in Southeast Washington. A native of the Washington, DC area, Mark is a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Design with a Master in Architecture. He received a Bachelors of Architecture degree from the School of Architecture and Planning at the Catholic University of America where he was awarded the Best of Thesis Prize. Mark was a 2000 recipient of the Leonard Kagan Travel and Design Fellowship for his work to mitigate environmental damage threatening the town of Gros Morne, Haiti. Mark has also worked with the National Building Museum assisting in organizing the symposium, ‘Framing a Capital City.’ Mark is a licensed and registered architect in New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Washington, DC. Mark has taught design studios at the Boston Architectural Center and the Catholic University of America School of Architecture where his research has focused on developing new housing and commercial solutions for underserved communities. He presently serves as an adjunct faculty at the School of Architecture at The Catholic University of America.
